Pauline Milwood, PhD, is a 2011 Fulbright Scholar and graduate of Temple University’s School of Tourism & Hospitality Management. She received her BS (hotel management) and executive MBA (general management) degrees from the University of the West Indies at Mona, Jamaica, and has twenty-five years of managerial experience in Jamaica’s hospitality sector. Her research focuses on system perspectives of entrepreneurship and innovation and includes social innovation performance, destination ecosystems, and destination management organizations (DMOs). At Penn State Berks, Dr. Milwood teaches hospitality-centered courses in entrepreneurship and innovation, operations management, and strategic management and multilevel courses in food production and service management.

Sarah Hartman Caverly, MS(LIS), MSIS, is a reference and instruction librarian liaising with hospitality management, entrepreneurship and innovation, and other academic programs in the Division of Engineering, Business and Computing at Penn State Berks. She consults with students and faculty on research strategies for product and service development, market and customer discovery, business planning and strategy, and intellectual property. Her research focuses on the compatibility of human and machine autonomy from the perspective of intellectual freedom. She earned her BA (anthropology, concentration in Africana studies) from Haverford College with a minor in growth and structure of cities from Bryn Mawr College, and her MS (library and information science) and MS (information systems) from Drexel University’s College of Information Science and Technology.

Shawn Murray is an assistant professor of tourism and hospitality management and discipline and program coordinator of hospitality at Montgomery County Community College. As an author, historian, and storyteller, Shawn’s research interests include hotel operations, destination planning and management, sustainability, and biodynamic vineyards, with an emphasis on how tourism and wine production can improve the lives of residents. Shawn is often featured as a speaker at national conferences, collaborates in and facilitates hotel- and wine-based research, and serves on tourism-related boards. He has graduated from Johnson & Wales University, Montgomery County Community College, Gwynedd Mercy University, Villanova University, La Salle University, and Arizona State University. Shawn is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Charleston. Shawn’s favorite quote is “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy,” by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
