1. Identify the structures of the nervous system, from its cellular to macro levels, and describe their major functions as they pertain to learning and memory. 

2. Weigh evidence in controversies in current issues in the biological foundations of learning and memory. 

3. Develop a working knowledge of differences and similarities of the methods used to investigate learning and brain– behavior functions and their strengths and weaknesses. 

4. List and describe the principles that guide brain plasticity and explain the role that plasticity has in learning and memory.
