Account Information and Borrowing Privileges

Registering with the PSU Libraries

All faculty and staff officially affiliated with Penn State and residents of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are permitted to register with the PSU Libraries.

Faculty and staff are eligible for Penn State IDs that will serve as library cards. Penn State IDs are available at any Penn State campus ID office.  Penn State faculty and staff can complete their library registration immediately after activating their Penn State Access Accounts. Use this link to complete library registration.

Volunteers who are Pennsylvania state residents having proper ID (PA drivers license or state ID) with current address can be issued a Resident Borrowers card by the Libraries. Pennsylvania state residents may register at any Penn State University Library. Resident Borrowers who also register online for a Friends of Penn State user account (which can be done here) may view their PSU Libraries borrowing account information and renew borrowed items online.

Please Note: A viable Penn State ID or Resident Borrowers card must be presented whenever borrowing materials from the Libraries.[1]
