Fall Field Cricket

Gryllus pennsylvanicus

Fall field crickets are abundant in meadows fields, parks, areas with lots of weeds, and concrete parking lots, as well as along beach edges. They are dark in color with a round head. Males are almost an inch in length.  Females are longer when including their ovipositor, the spiked-shaped structure at the rear of their abdomen used to deposit eggs.
