Subtitle: Written by undergraduate students at The Pennsylvania State University
Book Description: Communities in Crisis is a project that addresses the impact of climate change on communities around the world. Written by students at Penn State and focused on communities that are vulnerable to climate change, the short entries consider the current threat, the forecasts for the future, as well as the solutions.
Communities in Crisis–Student Voices on Climate Change addresses the specific threats of climate change on communities ranging from villages to large megalopolis. The threats encompass heatwaves and droughts, ocean acidification and harmful algal blooms. The project is written and edited by students at Penn State. The goal is to compile the magnitude of the climate change crisis on communities across the globe, as well as the breadth of the issues we face. Beyond looking at the current threats and forecasts, the students consider the solutions for the problems. Communities in Crisis is an ongoing project with new entries added each semester, and, over time it will chronicle the changing threats that climate change poses to populations around the world.
