Timing the Sale

When businesses start up, an exit strategy is usually discussed. Some businesses are started with a sell-out exit strategy. If this is the case, your client will be thinking throughout the business’s life when the best time to sell is.

It could be that your client is suffering, and it is best to sell out now before the business has completely gone under. Regardless of the reason, your client will have to determine the time. I proffer that counseling your client well ahead of the time when they actually want to sell is really important. Quite often it takes a long time to find a buyer. There are plenty of reasons why this is hard and time-consuming.

We will fast forward to the time when your client has located a potential buyer.
