- Negligent Entrustment
Introduction
Employees sometimes hurt others. When is the employer liable? Respondeat Superior holds that the employer is liable so long as the tortious conduct was within the scope of employment. Negligent Hiring, Retention and Supervision occur when an employer fails to exercise reasonable care in the selection or training of its employees. Sometimes Negligent Entrustment can arise as well. These topics will be discussed in this unit.
