Unit Introduction

Intellectual property is often at the core of a successful business—whether in the form of branding, artistic works, or useful technology. Protecting that property from misuse and misappropriation can be vital for a business’s survival. No company is immune to these concerns—from startups to billion-dollar sports franchises.

While IP law is an expansive field, this unit aims to provide readers with awareness and a basic understanding of the IP concerns facing entrepreneurs.
