Chapter 9: Design

This chapter is the first of two chapters focused on design. Design is something that many of us take for granted, but it’s something we encounter every day. The classroom we use each week? Someone (or many someones) designed this room, from the blueprints, to construction, to furnishings and technology, and so on. We often recognize bad design quickly; it confuses or disorients us. Good design goes unoticed by many. The next two chapters attempt to provide you with a variety of design ‘lenses’ which to view the world, to help you recognize good design, and also apply good design principles to you future endeavors.
